Brandt's Heating & Cooling To Guarantee Modified Class Prize Money
Bunker Hill, IN: Brandt’s Heating and Cooling has been providing the highest level of home comfort for Kokomo, Logansport, Monticello, and the surrounding area for 20 years and this year they will team up with the historic Bunker Hill Dragstrip to help provide a guaranteed payout for the Modified Class at all Summit Super Series bracket races.
While Dave and Laura Brandt, owners of Brandt’s Heating and Cooling are not avid drag racers, Dave is a car guy. He has restored many cars over the years, with a passion specifically for muscle cars, which gives him an appreciation for the sport of drag racing. The Brandt’s have employed their manager Shane Murphy for the last 18 years. Murphy, a long time drag racer, is responsible for teaming his employer up with his dragstrip to bring a guaranteed payout to the Modified Class.
Not only does the Brandt family appreciate drag racing, but they are passionate about helping youth in the community.
Bunker Hill Dragstrip is also passionate about their youth programs. Billy’s Auto Repair has provided the track with one of the best Jr. Dragster class payouts around, paying out a total of $600 every week to the youngest competitors at the track, so it made sense to Murphy for Brandt’s Heating and Cooling to become involved.
“We wanted to do something at the track that could help youth or young adults”, explained Murphy, “If you are a racer, you know that dad is going to race where the payout is best for dad. Our goal is that by guaranteeing a payout in the Modified class, it will bring more dads to the track, who will ultimately bring their kids who race juniors with them. At that point everyone is winning and our program is working.”
“The number one question I have gotten since I bought the track is, Will you have guaranteed payouts? Guaranteeing them on my own is pretty risky. We are so thankful for Brandt’s Heating and Cooling and Billy’s Auto Repair, who are allowing us to guarantee payouts for the Modified, and Jr. Dragster Classes this coming season. We hope before the season starts we will be able to announce guaranteed payouts in both our Top and Sportsman classes as well.” says track owner Terry McMillen.
The track is finalizing the structure of the guaranteed Modified Payout and will be announcing it prior to the start of the 2023 season.
